Equipping Your Reimagine Journey
The crisis at the heart of the church is that we talk about making disciples, but we seldom do it.
Making disciples is not just for pastors, ministers, or super Christians. Making disciples is the responsibility, privilege and great joy intended for every Christ-follower within the body of Christ.
The only hope for taking Jesus' message to all people is in believers' multiplying their labors by training disciples to continue and expand the work. If we are going to see believers around the world reflect Jesus' values, we need to get back to serious biblical discipleship.
What is your plan for discipleship in 2011? Will you commit to discipling just one person in 2011?
May God grant that we obey His mandate to make disciples.

This is a great equation: each one disciple one for one year, teaching them to do the same.
O LORD! May this be the commitment of every believer!
Hi Dave,
Can you share more about the 8 guys you meet with (how you got started, how often, where, what you do when you meet, accountability, etc). I think others might benefit from what you share.

My discipling plan is to engage with those in my sphere of influence, telling those who don't know Jesus about Him, living the life of Jesus before those I tell and those disinterested, and meeting with those who want to know more. I currently meet with 8 guys, two of whom are meeting with others and one who has recently met a guy who works within his area who is wanting to know more.
My plan for discipleship in 2011 is to continue being discipled by the men in my life that are investing in me. To be an encouragement for the disciples that are walking beside me and to continue discipling the two guys God has priveledged me to have the opportunity to invest my life in and see them become disciplemakers. Waylon Moore said that every man needs a pacesetter, a peer, and a pupil. I thank God for given me men who are all those things for me. I look forward to being used by God in the lives of men in 2011. Colossians 1:28-29 (Phillips) says, So, naturally we proclaim Christ! We warn everyone we meet, and we teach everyone can, all that we know about him, so that, if possible, we may bring every man up to his full maturity in Christ Jesus. This is what I am working at all the time, with all the strength that God gives me.

God bless you Darryl for your work and ministry!

I'm releasing my Discipleship class from 2010 and hoping and praying that they will each disciple at least one person in 2011. I will reach out to a new group and try to strongly and specifically disciple one individual in 2011. This shouldn't be hard as I am moving across the country.
God has a way of placing people in our lives all the time with the opportunity to either be discipled or to disciple. A gentleman from Cuba is just starting a small group Bible study on prayer and have encouraged him to check this group out. Friendship evangelism is what has worked for me over the years: Be a friend, make a friend, bring a friend to Jesus. "People don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care."

I believe one of the keys to disciple making is "intentionality". Being intentional about spending time with that individual; investing your life into theirs; and building that relationship that is so critical to making disciples. Of course this is the first step that we all fail at because intentionality takes effort, energy, and work on our part ; and we often fail to take that step. And as a result, disicples are not made and God's kingdom misses great opportunities to grow stronger.
