Logically Re-imagining the Commemoration of the Birth of Christ in the Blackness of Friday, November 29, 2019

Christmas wasn't widely observed until after Emperor Constantine converted to Christianity.  Western Christians officially began celebrating December 25th as the birth of Jesus in 336 AD.  Several Internet sources indicate, that around the year 273 AD, Christian leaders began to consider that the existing pagan festival of the winter solstice would be a fitting time to honor the son of God’s Coming to earth.According to Christianity Today, December 25th, at that time, was the appointed feasts…See More

Will God Bless America One More Time?

“A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion.”— Proverbs 18:2. Too bad the USA has this separation of church and state when it comes to political discussions.  This separation, as pertains to Proverbs 18:2, has turned us into fools. Since we now only express our opinions and eschew understanding of others, we have fertilized the extreme right and the extreme left.  The goal of the extreme right has always been to eviscerate the left.   The goal of the extreme…See More

Your First-Step-Suggestion to Us on How to Begin a Journey to Reimagine Disciple-Making? [ Tweet-Sized (280 characters) ]
Think outside of the bricks and mortar box. The Universal church has no walls, no congregational separations.

The simple, clear message of Christ is the Giving of, and the receiving of, Grace. Use all He has placed in your trust, including human logic, to share, and not scare, people with this Good News.

WHY SHOULD GOD BLESS AMERICA?

God bless America.  That is the poorest excuse for a prayer I’ve ever heard.

Americans bark out that demand hundreds of times every minute of every day.  That phrase has no humility.  That phrase has no confession of need.  That phrase offers no supplication.

Issuing this command to God is blasphemous.

A proper prayer for God’s blessing would be, at a minimum, “God, please bless America.”

A more appropriate prayer would be, “God, we have pushed you to the…
